I work with a vegan gym bunny. She thinks she looks good, poor deluded girl, shes skin and bones. I have bigger arms than she has calf muscles, and that takes some doing, hell I think 1 of my thighs is bigger than her waist!

Cut down on meat, certainly, and switch from beef, pork or lamb to chicken or fish as much as you can, but going completely veggie is pointless and full of potential health pitfalls unless you're a qualified nutritionist who's prepared to watch every last mouthful you ever swallow.

Jenny is veggie - she eats fish though. Been veggie for 20+ years
She swims three times a week and does a mile or so each time, proper swimming with head in the water and at speed mix of breaststroke and front crawl so working out/exercise is not a problem
She is fit and healthy and not a bag of bones

My God. What a bunch of ill-informed bullcrap being spouted - I'm 23 years a veggie and not dropped dead yet - quite capable of 100K bike rides and cycle 12 miles each way to work and back.
over 14 stone as well, so hardly wasting away.

Im 20, been Veggie all my life.
Go to the gym 4-5 times a week, and have been working out for 2 years.
I can now bench 100kg, do 6-8 pull ups, bicep curl 40kg, Leg press 230kg etc...
The right diet is very important.
I am 6ft 2 & 99.6 KG

I work with Buddhists in a company that have their own gym and
plenty of them work out. A fair few of them mix up and drink their own protein shakes to supplement their vegetarian diet.
There aren't any "beefcake" ones though, they're all skinny and wirey.

I dare say you can still workout, just depends what you are starting from.Height weight, figure, current health.
Not being a veg myself never really had to think about it,but protein is important part for building and muscle recovery, depends what you mean by workout. If you just want to kip fit and trim,or want to build muscle and size..
You can try pure whey protein shakes,or amino tabs as a supplement..

i'm very weird with my food but thats due to anorexia in the past, i have a fruit smoothie in the mornings, work out for half an hour on my x trainer and ride my horse for an hour, i eat a small lunch - usually a sandwich plus banana and apple and if im still hungry possibly a packet of crisps then i have my tea which usually consists of rice or potatoes and at least 2 vegetables, the only meat i eat is chicken and prawns.
admittedly i do get hungry in between meal times and i just drink water or another fruit smoothie to fill the gap. i am anaemic and can sometimes feel very light headed after my morning exercise but other than that, living off fruit and veg hasnt done me no harm!

gorrilas are vegetarian they seem to do ok there's plenty of protein in veg lots in beans and lentils all less concentrated than meat tho so might need to eat a bit more as most large vegetarian animals seem to eat most of the time but at least you'll be regular lol eggs?
