Can you keep your music on an external drive and run itunes successfully?
can you then run more than one computer, logged into your itunes account and move the hard drive around?

I have iTunes database on a network drive so I can use it from my desktop or laptop.
When you first start iTunes it looks in the local drive folder and says it cant find the library, it then prompts you to create a new one or find an existing one, so you can use fine existing to point at your network library.
This needs to be done each time you reboot, but it's an acceptable way of using it on multiple machines.
I've never had a sync problem with it, as long as you use the same Apple userid.
