I'm all done, so can't even get motivated to think of anything.

Is there a specific make/model that he likes in particular?

My dad is getting a nothern soul polo shirt and a subscription to a collectors magazine of his choice.

What about one of those Haynes build your own combustible engines?

I've got my dad a posh watch, a national trust membership for him and mam, a huge huge john wayne box set and I need to go to the Land Rover dealers on Monday and pick up some tacky merchandise type gift as its a running joke at the minute as he's just bought himself a new Discovery 4.

Slightly over your budget I know but at least you get to have a go

I got him a RC plane last year and he loved it

I got him the DVD of ''A car is reborn'' a few years back with the rebuild of the E type Jag. He loved that (apart from the muppet that rebuilt it)

Is there anything out at the moment along those lines?

I was struggling what to get mine......... I eventually came up with getting him a new PC.

I have ordered all the parts to build the thing, just waiting for bloody DPD to pull their fingers out and make a delivery attempt!!

Funnily enough I was round there last night and he happened to mention his old PC is getting too slow, can I do anything with it........ so I think my idea might turn out to be a good one!

I stopped buying my dad Xmas presents when I was a teenager, he was a miserable git. Couldn't face him saying things like "what the hell do I want that for?" anymore

He's a different bloke these days but once bitten and all that.

I'd adore anything my son buys me.
