While I believe Legard's future is in doubt it would not make sense to put DC in the commentary box with Brundle as he is not a Tv/radio presenter and is far better doing his pundit role in the pitlane.

My feeling is somepne like Charlie *** or Ben Edwards may be given the role if Legard is replaced.

Happy to be wrong, but the story does not quite add up to me.

Well I was never overly impressed with Legard, I found him a bit irritating at times.

I am not sure that DC is the right man to take his place though. Maybe Brundle as commentator and DC as the co commentator might work. They are both so very knowledgeable of course.

The thought of just Jake and EJ in the pitlane doesn't appeal either.

If only we still had Murray in the chair, he was very good indeed and the "Murrayisms" were all part of the entertainment.

Not Charlie ***....please!!! Anthony Davidson or Ben Edwards would be good. Leave DC in the pits with Jake and Eddie.

Agree that Davidson might be worth a punt, but good news if Legard is going.
It would be a shame to put DC in the box and rob us of his jabs at Eddie.

leave Dc in the pit lane he has that edge to push EJ,he could make it in the commentary box as him and Martin seem very funny when they do the odd grid walk together,
Legard was pants so deserves the push, Davidson is too monotone and 1 dimensional ( good at F1 knowledge) but no charisma,
Ive listened to Anthony Davidson the FP`s thru the year and his voice /style isnt what we really want,
Charlie is great but I want him to stay with Moto Gp as I like him and Steve on that,

I agree with the Murray Walker type of commentator as he gets over excited and fluffs things, but this adds to his style.(Legard was just daft and was picked up all the time by MB) so I agree Crofty would be ideal.

As Brundle can get into the pitlane to do his usual stuff and yet still do the commentating, do you think it's possible for DC to still do his stint with EJ and Jake, then join Brundle for the commentating?

I think that would be perfect and worth the extra money they'd need to pay DC to do it....i reckon that would wind up EJ a bit too.

Legard is knowledgeable enough but his styles jars unforunately.

Murray Walker knew all there was to know and still does, and his style was quite different somehow. I always felt like supporting him rather than the opposite for some reason. Having had a chat with him a couple of times I can say that he is a naturally likeable bloke, and very interesting too.

just checked on wiki, it says 'presently' coulthards agent. would presume his managerial scope would also include media work meaning brundle will be getting paid twice!

The problem with JL was that he wouldn't let Brundle speak. Kept interrupting Brundle `just` as he started speaking to tell us once again the running order.

Talked bollox most of the time, and Brundle had to keep putting him right on facts.

Guess Brundle had had enough, and made it clear to the BBC, Him or me?

Not sure DC would be any good at commentary, and I do enjoy DC, EJ, and JH pit lane walks.

Anthony Davis could be a good candidate. He's commented before, and was very good at it. Plus he also has the knowledge of being a racer.

agree, but think they should bring in Eddie Irvine to 'work' the paddock which would make far better telly

Who ever comes/goes, I hope they don't split DC and EJ, they make a great partnership and tend to have a different opinion on just about everything.

As for EJ he must stay at all costs, There's nobody I can think of that would have the ***** to ask some of the questions he does, plus his choice of clothing often makes me chuckle at times.
