Young kids taught Sharia law, homophobia, extremism, anti-semitism, Jews are subhuman etc. 'Protocols of the Elders of Zion' taught as fact

 

 

If this is a 'problem' then it needs to e dealt with, briefly watching the news this morning it appeared some 140 part-time schools operating evenings and weekends are teaching this Saudi based system based on the Koran to 11+ y/old and the teachings can be interpreted as you say.

I am sure they said due to the part time nature the schools are not regulated which is the real concern - for me anyway and the schools could be teaching anything which is just plain wrong. For the kids to attend the parents need to send them of course so is there a problem with some parents and this ideals???

The Saudis have disowned this but it appears that actually it is backed by the Saudi education ministry (paraphrasing) and i do wonder why they claim not to be involved when it appears that they are so.

All schooling and especially religious schools of all faith's should be closely monitored by true independent bodies for this type of hatred. If it does not fit with the UK's values and laws then it should not be taught - simple as that.

If people find it so hard to live by the UK's rules and customs then sensibly they would go somewhere more suited this of course leads us to why 'they' stay...

 

It'll just be made up to further their right-wing agenda, a bit like that Guardian article.

People need to stop crying wolf every time a group of Muslim extremists are criticised for their actions.

 

I get so frustrated that people like you and Maz remain silent on these issues. Take GC8WRX as an example: he's found some common ground with Mus (fairly moderate) and that'll help build brdges. I just don't get why you won't offer your perspective. The fact is, there are different flavours of Islam, and yours needs to be promoted for balance and so that people reading these threads understand that not all British Muslims are intolerant, anti-secular radicals. If you can't be arsed, then whilst you have the right to object it's validity is significantly watered down.

Or perhaps it is better to get things out in the open and discuss rather than a ban.

OK ban for personal attacks inciting violence spreading hatred yes - but discussing beliefs and side to any heated discussions is much better and healthier imho

How many Muslim threads have there been in the last few months?

It isn't an issue to me personally as i ignore most of them, but untill the retards who can't tell the difference between a Muslim and a Muslim Extremist stop stirring crap, people will get offended.

 

I have made no secret that this subject is being done to death, but it's a current issue and no doubt in time (like any other popular topic) it will settle down.

My view may not be supported by other moderators, and by all means my POV isn't necessarily how things will go, but I'm not sure we are here to prevent discussions. Everyone has the right to freedom of speech and I think our role is more to act if things start becoming personal and aggressive. Pretty much what Paul has said.

It may appear this is all Muslim bashing, but reading the views, it appears to be looking at a minority element within the religion as a whole.

I'm just not sure banning discussions is the right step to take. Surely by talking and hearing all the different views of a broad community, it is a better way to educate each other, and possibly open each others minds. So long as threads don't get nasty, I don't see how we can ban them or people.
