He walks off and she follows behind holding her cheek and muttering that she should have listened to her mother...

Its an american native indian lady walking along with her pony/pigtail, she has a handful of hair tied up. As I mentioned before, these movies were silent so people could talk about anything and it wouldnt matter as it wasnt being recorded. She looks like a lowly extra doing what she was told, hence looking at the camera at the end of the shot.

Notice the shiny black hair, it looks like she has a loop of hair like the second pic.
