Simple explanation. The guy who walks across just before is her husband. They have had an argument because she does not want to see the film. He has just given her a slap around the chops and said "we're going to watch it, now shut up. I don't know why I married you. You look like a man in drag sometimes". He walks off and she follows behind holding her cheek and muttering that she should have listened to her mother...

She could well have been talking to herself and using her hand against the sun.

Don't forget the original would have been almost square, but the Youtube version is in stretchyvision so the people look a bit odd even before any time travellers, sorry, people with hearing aids are shown.

Its an american native indian lady walking along with her pony/pigtail, she has a handful of hair tied up. As I mentioned before, these movies were silent so people could talk about anything and it wouldnt matter as it wasnt being recorded. She looks like a lowly extra doing what she was told, hence looking at the camera at the end of the shot.

Notice the shiny black hair, it looks like she has a loop of hair like the second pic.

Like Micky, I think I heard the guy say this footage is on the DVD extras and it's showing the crowd outside the theatre? It's not in the actual film.

Exactly, it's footage of people attending the premiere.
It's probably Steve Jobs in drag from the future testing the new Iphone 150 with the new time travelling app.
