Default NVQ courses

I currently work in the Private Health Care Sector looking after people.

Basically my employer won't provide me with NVQ training in care, so I was wondering does/has anyone else done one? If so, who with? As it looks very difficult finding a reliable company online and for the right price etc.

Thanks

Can't you just phone up your local college?

Also if your position requires an nvq then you have two options,

a) be greatful someone employed you when lacking is said qulification.
b) hand your notice in, take the moral high ground and have a gap year.

Timmy,

I would follow Hysteria's a option and then press for internal training in said qualification. Your employer has a responsibility to ensure that all staff are trained to carry out their duties (if they claim to hold any ISO certifcate then they do - trust me).

My own opinion - don't pay for training out of your own pocket if you employer can. It's worth pressing the matter, even if you get a no.

I agree, go with a. :-)

Never pay for any training that is a requirement for your position.
