kids playing sport
just a quick question, how many of you spend your sunday mornings taking your kids to football, rugby or any other sport. Ive just got in from taking my 2 boys to their first rugby game ever and the oldest even scored a try. They have both switched from playing football so it looks like my sundays are booked up for the forseable lol.

Yep.
My lads not 5 yet but he's onto his 4th week of rugby and loves it.
1.5 hrs on a Sunday morning for me whilst wife takes my daughter for ice skating lessons.
Lad will start Saturday am football soon whilst daughter has Saturday am swimming (with wifey) followed by 3 hrs Saturday pm Stagecoach (whilst I'm at the proper rugby).
Add into the mix all the parties they go to, too.
I can't wait for Monday and a rest at work

Yeah got the football, rugby, hockey and cricket T-shirts Best was probably hockey as pitch was next to a large Tesco where they did a Sunday breakfast so I stayed in the warm for the first half Robbie Williams, who lived locally at the time, turned up for a few of the football sessions which was great for the lads. Ruined when some chav mum contacted the press
Cricket was a bit of a bore tbh and took hours. Most time consuming was probably the rugby tournament days as there were usually miles away and took all day. A couple of bacon sarnies was the only consolation.

swimming at the weekend Sat and/or Sun also cycling and often a walk around Salcey Forest if weather bad then a trip to one of the indoor play-scape things.
Usually swimming once during the week and basketball 8am Tuesday at school.
Soon to add horse riding and a Sat morning working at the stables learning all about how to keep and look after a nag.

Yes I know, but the shop is over a mile away to start with and the round fills 2 bags on some of the days ,so I give him a lift .At least he shows the effort to get up at 0600 hrs ,so I dont mind .If I had to drag him out of bed it would be a different story .
Plus he is saving for a new BMX so I know he isnt spending his "Hard Earned" on sweets and rubbish .!!!

I used to do a paper round - 8 miles and two big bags. Didn't even cross my mind to ask for a lift from my Dad.
You've been suckered by a kid. How much does he pay you for your time and fuel? You've well been played!

Been doing this for over 5 years now . I dont mind as such or didnt when my eldest started playing football at the age of 5. He has reached a pretty decent level, playing under 11's, full teams and he even has his own kit with his number and name on
Trouble is his training and games always tend to be miles away from my house. Saturday morning training for two hours and then a match on sunday regardless of the weather .
Turned into a pain as the lovely bitch of an ex-wife has now decided that the younger one also needs to play football (which he does not like and has the co-ordination of a blind buffalo with two broken legs anyway ) and his training and matches are miles away from his brother
So I take him swimming instead
Younger girl does activities twice a week be it dancing or rainbows.
It is quite exhausting sometimes

My lad has just started Tae Kwon-Do but it's fairly near us (10 minute drive) and not until 6pm Sunday so not too onerous. Plus Daddy's started as well!!! Not bad, starting a martial art at 49!
He does do swimming and footie after school in the week but the footie is at school so he just gets picked up an hour later and swimming isn't that much of a drive. So far not too much trouble ....
