Default Anyone have one of those 2 way Speed Cam detectors?

...the ones that can upload and share a scam van point? Something like this http://www.activegps.co.uk/snooper-lynx.htm could be an investment in keeping my licence squeaky clean, especially as the limts are coming down and down and changing almost every 200yds round here. Roadfurniture-itis!

I ask as I almost had it at 5am by Silverstone from a front facing camera on a straight uninhabited road and it would have been bloody unfair, utterly pointless but still 3 points and an invoice through the post.

Cheers for any advice (other than slow down - just cos they say so).

Surely your response time depends on how fast you are travelling at the time of detection, ie 3 secs @70mph or 1.5 secs @140mph. Either way it's not much of a warning. A laser gun or a van would have you nailed way before you where even aware they where there.

Mine is set to 500mtrs/yards, and for statics like gatso or truvelos that is fine. For vans and lasers you need something a little more advanced.

No, sorry, I meant the vans get a lock on within 3 secs. Cameras it`s usually a few hundred yards and the same with a laser gun if it`s used on another vehicle before I get in range.

Got ya.

Thought it was a tad short for a warning.

I got it but it cries wolf a lot for 30mph zones when you are on a motorway. It has a motorway 'mode' to lock out nearby small roads but its not something you can operate on the fly - ruins it a lot.

Also it didnt know of loads of mobile sites that I did...some really notorious round here.

Dissapointed, but useful in a totally new area I guess.
