I tell you who I can't stand Russell Crowe - His portrayal of Robin Hood was farcical . Every scene he was in was with a different accent . Laughable .
For me Anthony Hopkins and female Charlize Theron.

There is an urban legend about Laurence Olivier and Dustin Hoffman.
Hoffman was on set getting all worked up into a lather for a torture scene in Marathon Man and Olivier sauntered across and asked him what he was doing.
- I am getting into the role.
- Oh, you should try acting my dear boy!!!!
Genius!!!
Having said that I do like Hoffman as an actor.

Ray Winstone, Sir Ben Kingsley and Ian McShane were all excellent in Sexy Beast, Sir Michael Caine generally, Brad Pitt in ****** is superb, Christopher Walken generally, Daniel Craig in the Bond films has been a revelation. I have loads but they are ones that immediately come to mind plus many of the above already mentioned.
Oh and Heath Ledger as the Joker was one of the best performances by an actor i've seen, simply amazing portrayal of the character
at Brian Blessed, hilarious to watch, especially in Blackadder.
Actress would have to be Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs which then also reminds me Sir Anthony Hopkins is another favourite of mine to watch.

Tom Hanks - urgh - the best movie he has been in was Toy Story - because you couldn't see him.
Totally synthetic.
Gene Hackman - great call
Albert Finney is good too - very characterful
Robin Williams has done some amazing work (and some equally truly dreadful work!!)

A better example to our young than the celebrity trash that seems to infest my television these days.
