Completely irrational anger!
Not much winds me up,but if ever I catch up with the eejut at Audi who started the LED lights stuff.
Keep shouting FFS at stupid full Christmas examples on Range Rovers and now to top it all a Transit van with them coming towards me the other day nearly sent me over the edge
aaaaaaargh...They don't look good,they are carp!!! (IMHO) was thinking of a poll,or a hitman
Ok,maybe lack of indicating gets me shouting too in the safety of my own car

Get used to them thanks to the EU new cars have to be fitted with them from 2011..i did think they were kinda cool when i first seen them, but now you can get these self fitting ones etc that look stupid on some cars,i think they are uncool now and are becoming a bit annoying, maybe i should drive with my fogs on during the day

No change there then!

I find that they can be a bit dazzling and people always seem to feel that they have to use them for demonstration purposes in broad daylight! I suppose they won't switch off any more. They are really not necessary in my view.

no off switch on the new range rover and both our sprinters have dipped lights on as soon as you start the engine (euro imports). People nearly crash in to us trying to tell us that the headlights are switched on.......who cares????

Oooo a saturday morning rant, yay!
My nark is the design of many modern light clusters;
The side lamps/brake lamps are positioned as such that when they are operating they totally overshadow the indicators. Making the indicators somewhat pointless. Range Rover Sport for example...if it is braking, one can barely see the indicator flashing. That is if you happen to find one who bothers to indicate, but if you do its usually manouvering THEN indicating, hence the minor if somewhat annoying issue as usually the nit-wit blonde WAG wannbee/****** haired male driving it will have already annoyed you over something else.
Front headlight clusters on cars are just as bad, as the indicator is in now often combined into the same cluster, the brightness of the main headlamp makes the indicator very difficult to see; especially on cars that have lights on during daylight hours, bright LED sidelamps also give this issue if they are right next to the idicator and don't dim when inditcating. I've seen some cars turn off or dim the one side lamp so the indicator is easier to see which is pretty clever....unlike mercedes which switches on a fog lamp instead
Then we have bikers who fit ultra miniture LED indicators to their bikes and then still use them when riding: They may as well bin them or just not bother using them as, nobody else can see them.
Front LED sidelamps do at least serve a better purpose than filiment side lamps. In that they can be seen better. This serves highly useful for the "sidelamps in the dark" brigade that I so often see. But even so, most of these cars have automatic headlamps. Not that some drivers ever noticed (unless its a Renault, and they've broken ).
Note for highway code readers: side lamps are considered as parking lights, NOT dim-dipped lights (which I haven't seen since Ford stopped making the Escort).

Problem is its seems alot of MK6 Golfs now have daytime running dipped headlamps enabled (i.e the headlamps are always on)...the non-xenon models have the indicators right next to them. Guess what? Can't see the front indicators flashing. Pain in the **** when I'm sat at a junction waiting to pull out only to find the Golf I'm waiting to drive past is was actually indicating left into turn in the same junction I want to pull out of.
All VWs made for the past five or so years have a daytime running light option in the body controller's software. But its only recently they've decided to sell the cars in the UK with it enabled (they are disabled on mine - thanks to VAG-COM ).

Good old Vag com, used it a lot recently to either LED running lights off or to dim / turn off the running light when indicating.
Lol why do yopu think that indicators in wind mirrors have got more popular - oh yeah as pointed out most modern lighs are combined and makes the indicators hard to see if lights are on.
Unfortunately I just see the daylight lights and auto wipers as more taking over control of the car - I will decide if I want the lights on or the wipes on not the other way around.

Saves me a trips to the dealers to turn off my welcome home/leaving home lights (which I can't disable via the dash as its only the basic version). Enabled total closure when it rains. Adjusted the delay time for the headlamp washers to 3 seconds so I can clear the screen without the headlamp washers firing off in all directions. Disabled double unlocking on the remote so everything unlocks with one press. Disabled highway lights (lights used to come on at 60mph and above regardless od conditions). Enabled Rain lights. Adjusted auto light senstivity.
I'm planning to retrofit an electric heater off a diesel for quicker warmth in the winter, VAG-Com will allow me to code it in. And I'll probably disable the auto wipers as the sensor is on the fritz, so I can have my intermittant wipers back (as opposed to the current random off--fast--off--slow--fast--off--can't see--crash). Plus they are crap when compared to our Altea's auto wipers (probably is the sensor, but at £200 I'm not going to bother finding out).
It also showed up the corrective values on the sloppy timing chain....£1K warranty bill
