Regularly around 3 per week.
I only give direct to charities, not the companies set up who make money out of selling the clothes then pass on some of the money to the charities.

I have had one everyday this week!
I'm not sure where I am supposed to find this endless supply of clothes to donate, but looking at the bags around the estate, there are some finely dressed people out there somewhere. Possibly not the intended persons though.

I, as others use them as bin bags. My parents take them over to their house in France and haven't bought a bin bag for about a year.
If I have a clear out, I take my stuff directly to the charity shop. Then I know it's going to the right place. I took a working XBox down to mine a couple of years ago complete with about 8 games. They probably thought it was Christmas, but I doubt it even got on the shelves, one of the staff would have put a contribution in for it I reckon.
I once wanted to volunteer for one for that exact reason!

I am quite careful who i give to now - it seems sharp practice to me legal yes but they do not exaclty clearly advertise who gets what.

If you do leave stuff out it doesn't get collected very often anyway ...... at least here in sunny Cornwall ...
When I was in Berkshire on a reasonable size estate we'd usually just leave the unused bag on the doorstep where it was left. When collection time came there'd often be a knock on the door:
'Excuse me, but you don't seem to have put anything into our collection bag?'
'Well, that's feckin' observant of you. Reckon it could be a hint ..... ?' ...

We get 2 a bloody day at the moment ...... I have stacked the bags up, unused, in the corner of the outside porch - still, they don't get the hint - the thick eastern european idiots!

For every 10 bags we receive through the postbox, I reckon we only get 1 van actually bothering to drive round our way on the nominated collection day. I usually end up taking any filled bags myself to the Sally Army shop, so probably more useful than funding "Lithuanian Cancer Research", ahem. .
