Where is the best place to get tickets? There is a 14 day Ultimate Pass, but there has to be somewhere a bit cheaper than buying direct or from someone like the tour operator..

Is there anywhere that you buy cheaper, but still pick them up from an offical disney gate?

The best place we found is Walmart.

Do you need the 14 day Ultimate. A 10 day pass will get you in ten times over 14 days (you don't have to use all ten consecutively).

There are 'ticket' booths at the wayside but many of these are 'second hand' tickets. Beware as some venues are using fingerprint recognition.

Walmart was a decent price, kosher and no queue. You can also buy things like the water spray fans and the Disney ponchos at Walmart at a mega discount to Disney.

Also if you go to Seaworld - you can get a one day pass at Walmart and when you go in the gate you get it stamped and you get a free ticket for another day.

I never knew that WM sold them!! 10 days would be perfect tbh. IS that any WM in the Disney area? Can you remember how much they were?

The difference between a 4 day ticket and a 10 day ticket was pretty small.

I cannot remember of the top of my head - but if I was to guess three adults and one child was just under $1,000.

Yes, all the WalMarts sell them as far as I know.

You need at least 5 days to do disney land properly. When I went it was about 5 times bigger than Chessington World of Adventures / Thorpe Park.

We went to:

MGM Studios
Magic Kingdom
Blizard Beach
Epcot Centre
and another one which i cant remember.

You should think about getting a Flex Ticket - gets access to Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens, etc - pretty good value.

5-6 days max for Disney or you'll go do-lally with the disney-music they play all over the place

Mmm, I did Disney in a day, and that was more than enough Hype, hype and more hype.

It's ok, if you're 12.... The water parks are good, but so are the ones outside of Disney.

Sea World, Universal, Kennedy Space, much better.

However, if you have kids, Disney will probably be best.

Universal is a great theme park if your kids are 13+

We didn't do Universal as our kids were under 5.

We did a lot of Disney but really didn't enjoy The Magic Kingdom that much. It was a real disappointment.

We did love Animal Kingdom - our kids would have happily spent the day at Dinoland sector alone. The Nemo show was great as was the Safari.

We didn't think Hollywood Studios would be that much fun but it turned out to be fantastic. The street show was very interactive and all PIXAR which the kids loved. There were loads of shows.

My eldest one got himself featured front and centre in the Star Wars show and got to fight and defeat (at least he thinks he did) Darth Vadar!! It was really magical.

Seaworld was also great and if you asked the family as a whole what we enjoyed most it would be Seaworld. I don't think it is as good as the one on Gold Coast, the shows are top notch.

Like trout said, Walmart is the best place, good on price (for everything) and you know the tickets ate going to be real.

What age are the people you ate going with?

I'd say for younger children Disney is great and 10 days will be plenty, you will need a few days to recover in between visits!

Universal needs at least a whole day to itself, and I went back the next day as I didn't manage it all.

Also you have blizzard beach, typhoon lagoon and a third, but I didn't get there!

You might want at least a day at the beach (maybe?) and one shopping for great bargains.
I'm not one for shopping, but beleive me, you can get some great stuff for Christmas pressies!

Also check out the old town for some car shows, they have some really good nights down there.

There are loads on the 192 - the proportion that sell dodgy tickets is very high! They are pretty much on every block and every time we went near them we had two questions asked of us.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I'm thinking of going early next year. My kids will be 4 and almost 3 by then, would they enjoy any of it or are they too young? Which bits would be most suitable for them?

Hi Ding,

My kids were 4 and 2 when I went. The 4 year old loved Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios (loads of PIXAR, Power Rangers and Star Wars). We went back a lot which surprised me! He didn't really like Magic Kingdom that much except when he managed to pull the sword from the stone completely randomly.

The 2 year old enjoyed travelling on the car park train everyday! He enjoyed some of it but not as much as his brother.

I'd be very surprised if they did not enjoy it. There is an enormous variety of entertainment. it was some years ago when I was there and it was pretty outstanding then. Only irritation was queueing for various exhibits.

I think Space Mountain might be a bit much for them, or even for you! There are signs along the climb up from the start saying that if you have a bad heart you would be better not to try it. Bit late by then! It was all in the dark when I tried it but I heard that it is now lit up.

Acts like the hillbilly bear band are very good, its all just as entertaining for parents. The big parade in the evening is worth seeing too.
