Default Big Thank you to LostUser

I'm always seeing posts about scammers etc but there are good people on Scoobynet.

See my post here:

https://www.scoobynet.com/computer-r...p-home-cd.html

CD came as promised and wouldn't take any money to cover postage etc.

Thanks again mate, laptop is running like a dream since the reinstall.

Partly my fault made a right hash of my post as I was getting fed prices from other people.

Don't see why I deserved what was posted. But hey least I'm a better person for not resorting to name calling eh

Just sold the door cards so not all bad.

You're most welcome. Only took 5 minutes to burn and 98p to post.

As you said, far too many people trying to do each other over and not enough trying to help each other.

Glad it worked.

Glad it is sorted and well done to LostUser. Also good to see someone taking the trouble to say thanks as well. Often seems to get forgotten.

It is surprising ho many people don't bother to keep their OS disk. Sooner or later you may need it.

I put mine somewhere safe.

People are quick to moan, I notice that on my for sale threads but not quick to offer advice or help! Society of today unfortunately but not everyone thankfully which is why I take the time to thank where I can.

I never thought to ask on here. My hard drive had to be replaced and I now have a "This is not genuine" Vista in my machine. My license number on the bottom of my lappy does not work
Am getting nowhere with getting Vista other than buying it again.

Did you have the hard disk replaced (and vista re-installed I guess) by a computer repair shop/guy? Maybe they didn't use the right Vista disk to re-install Vista.

If your laptop came installed with Vista then they should have used an OEM disk. Then the product key on the label on your laptop would have worked.

XP is better anyway-if you could go back to that.

Other half thought he was helping. But, when they put in the new hard drive, they did not install Vista. I got no disk and never thought to do a recovery one (goon that I am)
Anyway, he got one of his mates to do it. They used Dell and mine is Compaq
Thanks anyway.

I have a spare XP key if you do decide to go down that route.
