eBay feaver.
Never had this one before
Put my cars old front lip spoiler on eBay as it was unwanted/taking up space, starting price of 1quid, no reserve, buy it now price of 40quid.
With 4 days to go, it was up to 36quid
With 2 days to go it was PAST my buy it now price
Finished just before 16quid more than my buy it now price
This lad kept mailing me asking me questions like "would you let me know where its from if i dont win?" "i really want it" etc etc, i almost felt sorry for him, although he did win in the end

Some time last year I bought on ebay Dirt 2 for the PS3.
It came with a medium sized dirt 2 T-shirt
I of course had no need for the shirt and decided to wack it on ebay just to see what I'd get for it - I though we'll if I get a tenner that'll do.
I put it on and the bidders went to town.
I remembered getting up on the Sunday and noticed loads of emails on my phone - I looked and thought "**** - that can't be right" and put it down to the way it was being displayed.
Later on - more emails, payment received via pay pal and it was for £29!
On the emails on my blackberry I thought it was £2.90
Result was dirt 2 cost me a fiver in the end

I put a professional sunbed on there which was left in the house when I moved in: The thing weighed nearly half a ton and needed four people to get it down the stairs and into the garage. It was in the way so I was prepared to chop it up and take the steel to the scrappers (leaving a question of what to do with 40 sunbed tubes).
Stuck it on ebay, no reserve on collection only figuring its easier for someone to take it off my hands than me mess about with the grinder. It went for £60. Then I get a email asking if would go into her loft (note "her") and can she just plug it in? This thing pulls 4 kilowatts and is the size of a single bed, will a single bed fit through the average loft hatch? nope. Daft bint. She then sent her fella down with his van: A Peugeot Partner. What part of the "size of a single" bed did she not understand? I even gave her measurements. Suffice to say it wouldn't fit...half the thing sticking out the back.
Bloke had some common sense and said there is no way him and his missus would be able to deal with the thing, and said "put it back on ebay refund us less the fees when it sells". Which I did.
So second attempt....it went for £260 The people who collected travelled 100miles to get it and even rented a van to put it in! Nuts!
I gave £50 to each of my mates who helped me get it down the stairs. They couldn't belive it went for that much either.

Not quite the same as these stories but I got pissed one night and bought a canoe on eBay. I never read the advert properly and it turned out it was 16'6" and at the time I had a BMW mini so ended up selling it and bought my first scoob! ( a wagon to fit the bloody canoe)
Don't get drunk and use eBay

Quite a lot of the time you see stuff sell on ebay for more than it costs to buy it in a shop, thats normal every day items as well. The mind boggles sometimes of who is actually behind their keyboards placing bids.
