Cheapest place to buy an iphone 4 or 3gs non contract ?? now been let badly down by two s/net members on here re an iphone so decided just to forgett buying from ebay / scoobynet !!

Few places selling them Sim free, Play.com, Amazon.co.uk, Mobilefun.co.uk etc.. Not on PAYG at the mo, so you will be stuck with Data Charges unless on some sort of deal for any apps that require data updates.
This was the mistake I made buying a Sim Free Nokia N97 and finding £4 gone in a day due to data being used over hte air waves for a Weather app

Okay slightly confused then, if I buy someone iphone 3gs/4 upgrade and then unlock it and put my own sim in it obviously it just becomes a payg yep ?? how would the data charges work and is it just app updates that use this data ??

if I just add my own apps via wifi to the phone I wont get any charges on the payg ??

Got my 3gs on PAYG from carphone warehouse just after they came out, first one went back after a week (my fault for fcukin with it) and they changed it no questions. Its ok getting it of SN members or ebay but you got no go backs if owt fluffs up. Didn't mind paying the ££'s for it as i plan on keeping it for quite a while and the contract price will soon off set. Now got it jailbroken and unlocked so it's even better now

Data charges are the same as any service provider contract/PAYG t&c's. I got O2 Unlimited with mine, £15 a month for unlimited call and text to O2 numbers and they threw in unlimited data and free hotspot access for 12 months
If you use it a home on your wifi then yes, its free, ie not taken off you PAYG allowence

edit: if you jailbreak then most apps are free anyway

Okay cheers yep have to say this latest episode on here regards the selling off an iphone has put me right off buying privatly, as I say think its best just to buy new from shop, unfortunatly Tesco still not got any in and not sure when next lot due in.

my boss got one as his free upgrade gave it to his son he got a micro sim off o2 transferes his number to the micro sim top up with a £10 he gets 300 txts and 500mb internet and still has his £10 topup
