Police Camera Action: ITV, now.
I'm sorry but I've had to vent this somewhere. This program has to be the most complete utter bullsh*t propagander I have ever seen on public television. Panarama and Dispatches is bad, but this brings it to a even lower level of bad journalism.
Speed this speed that...then in every example of bad driving it cuts to clips of footage from the USA where cars crash, from either drunk drivers, cars being under persuit, or rubber-neckers. Not one single relevent clip of bad UK driving (except a bloke caught by plod via a laser camera on a dry empty road.. with a queue of five plod cars ready to pounce like a taxi rank )
I don't know about anyone else, but I think this tosh needs a firm complaint to Ofcom for taking far to much artistic journalism to make their weak point.

OK, TT driver in the rain was a tit, one of the few caught fair and square.
Girl was tragic.. but it was dangerous driving, NOT speeding (ok he was going too fast, but it was not the single cause); The guy chose to overtake a car that pulled out with oncomming traffic instead on slamming on the brakes.
The 58mph brakes test; bulsh*t. 50mph car audibly had ABS acting just as it came to a halt. 58mph car wasn't even braking hard enough to trigger the ABS. Funny that, as these cars have brake-assist as standard to detect an emergency stop condition and should automatically apply full braking effort, so why didn't the 58mph car do this?
This program deserves a complaint, I'm all for road safety and getting rid of careless and dangerous drivers. But the way it went about it totally undermines everything to do with road safety.
I mean nearly every USA clip was from a chase pursuit or dozy rubber-neckers. Even the odd UK one was from a police chase (noted by the helicopter and following plod car), you can't use footage of a police chase as evidence of a speeding driver as the chased vehicle is either stolen or being driven by a drunks, druggies or criminals, none of which have regard for what they are doing or the consequences, unlike the typical law abiding public.

I agree partly, the whole chase scenes filmed from a helicopter were clearly (for the most part) taken from Cops or such like and involved car thieves, drunk drivers and generally people not to keen on a conflab with the pigs obviously driving badly at high speed to evade capture.........
The tit in the Range Rover - undeniably bad driving and poor decisions, my thoughts go out to that family and little girl.
I personally do not speed day-to-day, but when the conditions are right, few road users around (such as 2am on a three lane motorway), my right foot may become a little heavier than usual. There (as with most things) is a time and place and the only way to be 100% sure is to save it for the track.....

its stupid to make such a deal about it all yes the bloke in that landy was traveling way to fast in a 30 he should be locked up! But people on motor ways are genrally good drivers its the people that drive slow that cause the accidents!!

The worst bit of propaganda they show, is saying SPEEDING is wrong, SPEEDING is dangerous, SPEEDING is evil, SPEEDING kills.
How do they prove their point? By showing stolen cars being driven at speed.

Never watched it but it sounds like a typical tabloid type of programme exaggerating everything in sight in an attempt to get the ratings. Don't think I will bother with it anyway now.

Did anyone see last weeks with the 'young' drivers? Just as bad.
I suppose they think if it makes 1 person slow down/drive safer..............

Cars & roads are dangerous.....end of........
These people will just have to accept that.
They will never see the end of the road traffic accident, and people will always die in them.

The show was indeed very misleading, but it was tears to a glass eye with regards that little girl.

I can see everyone's point about the "annoying propaganda" angle but the guy who admitted doing 120 in a 30 limit should have his licence revoked. I mean that is just plain
That poor little girl......real tragedy caused by a total bellend of a driver in the 4x4 doing a totally obscene overtake.

I don't watch it any more it just hacks me off, but what i could never understand is that the old bloke who used to present the programme has been done for drink driving twice, and the ***** had the cheek to preach about people speeding!
