Police at their worst

What a pair of *****. Does the old bugger look much of a threat when they drag him out the car? He looks as though he can barely walk let alone be a risk to the coppers Hope they get what they deserve - the sack.

Sorry, but i am with the Police on this one.
If he'd have pulled over it wouldn't have happened.
Maybe they went OTT once he had stopped, but after driving away from them followed by a 17 minute chase, they were hardly going to ask him to step out of the car nicely.

Look at the car ... Range Rover
Look at the private plate ..... hmmmmmm
Think about the Pikey who was driving it and the mouthing he gave the police ...... !!!!
70 isn't old these days .... so, don't let that make you think he was an innocent pensioner!!

I'd expect that behaviour for the stolen car brigade as like on police camera action but not against some old devil on heart attack and stroke medicine whether he was a cantankerous old git or not. That behaviour is appropriate for those who are likely to pose a risk by way of weapons or the chance of trying to escape not an OAP who couldn't outrun a snail.

Don't forget the illegal tints aswell

My god.....
Looks like 2k of damage to "extract" a pensioner out of his car...
I dare say the pensioner had a much bigger **** than all the police officers put together though,so i hope they gave him a sound thrashing as well!!!!
The officers look like little boys playing games!!!

Just because he is old doesn't make him exempt from the rules.
17 or 70 - if you refuse to stop (especially for 17 minutes/8 miles) for the Police that is what can happen.

Could well be ... and that's why I am advising caution ... I am quite capable (even at my advanced years) of being an anti-social 4rse on the roads ...
Like I said, add it all up - no seat belt either .... and you have a person who thinks the law doesn't apply to them ..... like I said, an old pikey!

a) The reaction was because of his failure to stop
b) You don't get 3 points for no seatbelt

Oh.....I thought you did....ho hum.....
So are you saying that its ok to damage a vehicle to that extent, when someone(who they knew was a pensioner) drove off from a fixed penalty notice??????
Was he armed ???
Had he pinched the car???
Had he no insurance ???
Was he a wanted criminal???
In reality,he was probably pissed off that he was getting a ticket for no seatbelt, when they could have just told him to put it on... So in a fit of pique,he drove off..
They could of left it...the ticket was written out and £60 would be in the coffers.. But no,lets waste a load of police time and resources and chase this guy and take him down like a terrorist, and smash his car up in the process..
Ok,he shouldnt have driven off but this reaction is way way way over the top..

Was he armed ??? They didn't know
Had he pinched the car??? They didn't know, although they may have done a check
Had he no insurance ??? as above
Was he a wanted criminal??? They didn't know, although unlikely
What they did know is he drove away from them and refused to stop.
I agree their reaction was OTT, but what were they supposed to do?
He'd already driven away once, if they hadn't done that maybe he'd have done it again?
Most 70 year olds i know don't drive Range Rovers with illegal tints, illegal plates, no seatbelt, and refuse to stop. I don't think he's your typical 'lovely old man'.
They only guy i know in his late 60's with a Range Rover with tints has been inside for 4 counts of manslaughter. Hardly your lovely old man either.

Yep steaming along at 30mph really sounds like a pikey trying to get away from the police I'm not for one minute suggesting he's some innocent old bloke and would imagine he was a right mouthy old git but that still doesn't warrant having his car kicked in.
The Police wouldn't have been suspended either if their response had been warranted. The Stinger was in front of him, he hadn't gone over it yet so he was hardly going to try and drive off going straight over the Stinger.
Sounds like he told the coppers a few home truths and they thought they'd teach him a lesson. Funny how they thought they could get away with that behaviour when being recorded by their own in car camera
