can you trace a parcel not sent by recorded or special delivery?
hi
I have bought something from ebay and its still not arrived 8 days later, the seller states its been sent but he has not sent it by recorded or special delivery.
I really could do with this item today, but its not here. is there anyway using the reciept of sending at post office to trace where the bloody thing is?
any help appreciated.

No.
If there is a receipt - Certificate of Posting - and it doesn't arrive the seller can claim back 100 x 43 pence (I think).
If seller is telling truth then the best/only thing you can do is check at local sorting office and see if it is hanging around there.

Lol, I'm in the same boat but the other way around. I sent a camera lens about 12 days ago and the buyer says it hasn't shown up. I've got proof of sending and I phoned the number on the receipt. Royal Mail say that they won't start to chase it up until 14 days have gone by, then they will attempt to track it down.

been to the sorting office its not there. if they are willing to chase it up thats pretty good, is it 14 working days or just 14 days?
im just wondering now if he has actually sent it, so I may call his bluff and tell him to to wait the 14 days and contact rm again.

Nah, it wasn't recorded. Just a 1st class packet at £1.75. There is no tracking number of such like, just a receipt with the postcode we sent the package to written on it.

Yes, it costs 98p on top of postage and you get an online reference number which tracks, point of postage-transit -delivery. It even logs 'you were out we left a card' as was the case for something I sent out this week. The reference it the bar code number which is stuck to your letter/parcel at the point of postage.
