642 was about what the shares were trading at before the accident. I'm not sure how anyone thinks that within 8 months and 4-5 billion in costs and 20 billion in a fund plus numerous lawsuits ongoing BP will be back at 642 this year but I sincerely hope they are.

I doubt it, although who could rule it out. It was bound to come off after such a run. It was driven down by hype and it was driven back up so quickly in the same way.

I saw first hand the Braer shipwreck and spill and how quickly the bulk of the 600,000 bbls seemed to disappear - just needs a hurricane or two to help it disperse.
