iPhones being recalled tomorrow!!
To all the sheep out there ..... get your phones back to the shop and buy something else (yes, I know that would mean you thinking for yourself - but try it, you may gain in self-confidence!)

I very much doubt that Mr Lewis. There are only a few people who have a problem out of millions sold. And those people have been able to return their phones for a free refund. No one has.

Oops ... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/07...enna_problems/ ... "... Apple's senior antenna expert told Steve Jobs during the "early design phase" of the iPhone 4 that the handset's exterior antennas could cause dropped calls, according to a report citing a person familiar with the matter ... A separate anonymous source tells Bloomberg that an unnamed carrier partner voiced concerns over the antenna design before the phone was released. The service provider performed tests before the device's launch that suggested the antenna design might cause reception problems ... "

Users observing a drop of several bars when they grip their iPhone in a certain way are most likely in an area with very weak signal strength, but they don’t know it because we are erroneously displaying 4 or 5 bars. Apparently you only have a problem if you are left handed. All lefties could be burned at the stake as witches like in the old days. Might this be a cheaper option for Apple than a full recall?

we have 2 iphone 4s and they both have the signal problem - full signal. touch the bottom left of the phone and watch the bars dissipate. let go and they come back.
neither of us have had dropped calls or suffered data losses though and I think most people are not bothered, mainly the press.
2 million phones sold and actually very few returned

fan boys face it,there arent a few suffering problems there are thousands reported. Its not just dropped calls, but bluetooth handset problems as well and other problems. Face it, it has been rushed to market and is rubbish. There are talks off it costing apple over 1bn to rectify. Its like nokia in the mid 90's bringing a banana skin to the market instead of the banana

I don't quite understand what bad could happen to anyone on here. Let's say Apple do nothing, which I suspect, all owners are either happy - which is undeniably the case on here - or have the option of returning their purchase. Let's say Apple do a full recall, everyone gets a new phone, everyone's still happy.
I guess the only bad could be that the haters amongst us will have to hate something else.

Jack does have a point. How many of you have or do own one?
So you have no experience how bad you're claiming it to be. Yes they're are a thousands complaints but millions sold.
I work all over the country everyday and have had no issues with my iPhone 4, I think it's the best iPhone to date.
There's a few members on here with the IPhone and they dont seem to be moaning, Only the people who don't have one or htc fanboys

Bit disappointed in you pete. I know you like to run the 'extreme' view on various topics and enjoy the role of 'harbinger of doom' on here, but to allow yourself open to rumours and speculation without any shred of evidence is..well a bit below you.
They will not recall the iPhone, there is no need to. Worst case scenario they will update the software to ease the issue and offer free bumpers. End of.
And to be honest, most iphone 4 users (of which I assume you are not one of them) are not bothered.

Well Swiss was 'moaning' and he owns one. Aren't stupid sweeping generalisations in either direction silly?
