I rememebr watching this on a country shooting weekend. Still remember they guys hands getting bitten off when they go through his mates chest.
I think I'll pass, and add this to the list of not to watch again, along with Event Horizon.

After Alien, The Thing was my favorite film as a kid. I think I was about 7 or 8 (yes I know, how irresponsible of my parents) and I could only watch The Thing during the day.
Event Horizon is another awesome film although last time I watched it I left the light on in bed that was a few months ago

I think it was Paul W S Anderson's first feature length film and probably his best - Resident Evil, AvP, Death Race were all a bit naff. I think EH was better due to it being filmed in the UK and if you want to make good scary scifi then it has to made in the UK. We just seem to be good at it.
Shame theres no sequel planned.
A prequel is being made at the moment. I think principle filming started a while ago. I doubt that the monsters will be anything other than CGI so may not be that great.
With Predators getting somewhat poor reviews I'm not sure how these re-visits to old horror films is going to work out. Ridley Scott doesn't tend to make poor films so we can only hope is Alien prequel bucks the trend and is actually good.

"I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human. This thing doesn't want to show itself, it wants to hide inside an imitation. It'll fight if it has to, but it's vulnerable out in the open. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies, nobody left to kill it. And then it's won."

Cracking film. I bought in DVD a while back. A must have for any 80's horror/thriller fan.
Scared the crap out of me when I first saw it 15 years ago.
