Silent set top-boxes
Hi all I'm looking to get a new freeview set top box to replace my noisy Sony HDD DVD recorder, the reason I want a silent 1, is cos the 1 I have is in my bedroom and it wakes me up or won't let me sleep when it's running. I had a couple over the years and best was a Pacer I had about 10yrs ago.
Anyone have 1 they can recommend(silent that is) needs a optical output and possibly be HD?

Do you mean a Freeview PVR or just a tuner? Any PVR is going to come with a bit of noise if it has an HDD in it, though some have fans and some do not, which can make a difference.
