Sky+ HD recording without sound?
Any ideas why my Sky box is recording without sound?
It's started doing frequently over the last few weeks. It's really pissed me off by not recording the sound for Top Gear on Sunday and last nights repeat.
Is this a common fault?

Have you tried pulling the plug and plugging back in? Have a few issues with my Thomson Sky HD box, but loosing sound isn't one of them I'm afraid. Maybe you have set it up to play sound through a dolby decoder perhaps? worth checking the settings just in-case someone has been playing...

I've tried it with the tv speakers only and the Dolby decoder/external speakers only, but without joy. I've also just plugging and unplugging the power. The settings can't have changed as I'm the only one here...
It only seems to be a problem with BBC2/3 and FX.

I have had stuttering on 'FX' on occassion but that's a know issue with the channel. I would check the signal the box is receiving, possible that the dish has become mis-aligned.

I had this problem with my second faulty hd box. They just had to replace it. Damn thing made me miss most of the last season of Battlestar Galactica on HD so ended up having to watch them on proverty spec Sky2 when they repeated it.
