Nasty accident. Glad he is ok.
Personally I think Mark thought Heki would move out the way - he's spent 8 races having the Lotus jump out the way every time he comes up behind it. The Lotus didn't have to move and when Heki didn't Mark had no where to go.
Not the first time Mark has been airbourne in a car.

As for today I think Mark was just caught out by how soon Heikki braked.
Montoya did something similar in the Williams a few years back.

He was certainly lucky it caught a corner when he was upside down and it continue to roll before it grounded again.
I think he was unwise to follow a car that closely as they approached a corner. The bloke was bound to put the brakes on eventually and at that distance there was no time to avoid rear ednding him.

formula 1, boring, i dont think so lol. tbh the american indy oval racing can be v. boring, however when these boys crash it can make the F1 crashes seem miniscule in comparison, with no comfy tyre wall either.

Didn't Christian Fittipaldi have a similar accident on the last lap of Monza one year (Early/Mid 90s)? Hit the back of his team mate, did a full flip, landed on his wheels and finished the race?
I remember the cars were white....Minardis?
