And for all you pikey types, check out the supermarket own brand ones too. Think it was the Aldi version that came out on top in a taste test I saw.

To be honest by the time it's got all the fruit, lemonade, mint, and other stuff that's supposed to go in it I think you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference

Just bought 5 bottles of Lamb Navy Rum and 1 bottle of Gordons Gin

They are the small bottles (500ml? you know the squareish ones), but hey, they were only 2quid each

Some department store closing down and everything must go, the fecking bigger bottles were only 3quid each, but we missed out on them

 

Navy Rum - you using that to clean paint brushes?

Tbf Ive never tried any of the imitation Pimms as normally around £6-7 for a 75cl bottle. Just stock up when its of offer.

I had a few neat shots of it the other night

I don't like gin, and don't usually drink rum(but that morgans spiced rum is noooice), but the stuff was sooooo dammn cheap, i could not resist.

 

Typical got a 1L bottle from Sainsbury's for £12.00, 4L R Whites Lemonade is £1.50 in our local co-op at the moment

Thankfully it is Pimms-O-Clock!

 

Petrol is £1.20 a litre and tasts better than pimms..

I use Havana Club for making Mojitos and its a pretty smooth rum so not bad straight.

Talking of hetrosexual drinks I got 1L of Mojito last night from Sainsburys for a tenner!!! It was awesome, I wished I had'nt drank it in pint form but it was still really good for this time of year.

 

I had to fire my last butler. Can anyone recommend a good man who can create magnificent crust free cucumber sandwiches and capably decant my finest claret?

Good point, I haven't had my first Pimms of the year yet. Will fix that tomorrow as I have some sirloins ready for the barbie

 

Saved me some money.

I always fancied trying it (just after seeing adverts) but never really bothered looking at what it was properly. Glad I didn't bother buying some as I really, really hate gin.

Pimms Recipes

Traditional Pimms No.1
Take one slice of orange, lemon, apple, cucumber per person and one sprig of mint and add to two parts lemonade to one part Pimms.

Turbo Pimms No.1
As above but five parts lemonade, two parts Pimms, one part gin.

 

Ive no idea if its actually Gin based but take it from me if it is you cant taste the gin as I also detest the stuff. Its not a strong tasting drink (25% abv) but very drinkable with one of those addictive tastes.

Gave it a bash, it was awesome. I moved on to double measures and got the old pint glass out again!!!!!

 

+1 Definitely no taste of gin, just like a fruit alcoholic spirit, but no strong over powering taste of alcohol.

 

Just like a decent drop of Sloe Gin then!

I tried some (not because of this thread though).

We were at the NBO and someone on our stand brought some. I couldn't describe the taste, but I can say I didn't like it. Maybe it's because I don't like any spirits.
