According to the paper, Section 295-C of the penal code reads: "Use of derogatory remark etc, in respect of the Holy Prophet, whoever by words, either spoken or written, or by visible representation, or by any imputation, innuendo, or insinuation, directly or indirectly, defiles the sacred name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) shall be punished with death, or imprisonment for life, and shall also be liable for fine."
So, peace be unto Muhammad. But not unto Mark Zuckerberg.

I would not say it is that the religion approves of or encourages that type of shameful behaviour. That would be a primary activity to be forbidden just like any of the other serious offences against people of any age.

As in all bad actions, it is down to the man concerned and whether his conscience will allow him to commit such heinous acts, maybe in some extent due to his celibacy although that is no valid excuse of course. He will know that he is totally condemned by his religion for such behaviour. It means that he no longer it fit to be regarded as a blameless person.

Incidentally it is not accurate to blame Catholics in general. The fiddling was being done by priests who must have lost their faith and deserve the maximum castigation and punishment if found out.

A normal devout Catholic would view such actions with anathema and completely against his religion at least as strongly as any other person from the view of natural law if not more so.

Religion is a personal choice, not something to be rammed down peoples throats and obeyed to the letter.
Death threats for apparently dissing something that is of no consequence to a great many people is very, very wrong.
