It's so quiet in here now, how can we pull people back or attract new folks I've always liked the light hearted banter in here, much more amiable and pleasant people than just about any other forum I've ever been on. Where is everyone ?

Hi dave, hope you and yours are well.
How's life in the diesel lane ?
I've just had a ride in a 627 bhp Scoob, you'd like it, so massively civilised it's unreal.
I've just fitted a DCCD gearbox to mine and it now does a reasonable impression of a RWD car when the roads are damp....
Back to the question, I'm sure all good things come to an end, like the WYIOC that I first joined has metamorphosed into something different, but not necessarily in a bad way ?
Just different.

Agree Corradoboy. I'm a long term member, since 1998 iirc who used to post under a different name.
It does get really quiet here which is a real shame. I've not owned a Scoob for about 6 years but still continue to check in here out of force of habit really.
Its a real shame that its nowhere near as fun as it used to be

I've been on scoobynet for a good few years now (10) - not had a Scoob for 2 years now but still do like this site, yes its changing, and it can be quite especially in the summer months especially at the weekend.
Like a lot of things some people move on from here after getting rid of a Scoob and haunt other sites some still stay and lurk
But come a good world event and it will be busy with comments - The emegency budget will probably be the next big thread

I still find some very interesting reads and like to pop in now and again.
Not as frequent, I grant you, but I am busy with other things

Miss some of the great evening banter sessions on here from years gone by, but I think many of them were fueled by alcohol. My post count certainly has suffered now that I dont tend to have drunken post sessions. The upside is when I read my posts back in the morning they make sense
Apart from that, I think the cross section of the members has changed somewhat and combined with lighter evenings, other stuff to do and watch, means the traffic in here tapers off.

Bright graphics, advertising everywhere, adult forum etc has meant it is difficult for me to have it up on my screen in work. If i use my own kit i'm running a 3G dongle and it is painfully slow, so i use Pistonheads, RS246, Audi-Sport to while away work time
In the evening, have better things to do than come on here.

I still enjoy this forum. It would be a great shame if it expired. As was said it has a particular style which I think is good.
The quickest way to kill it is to complain about it.

I had threats PM'd to me for suggesting that people are wrong to take methadrone!!!
A lot of people turned into keyboard warriors and internet tough guys. I think if it went back to lighthearted banter and a friendly place to be then people would come back.
If it stays a hassle and no fun to use I will stick with SIDC

it died when IB took over tbh or at least that was the start of it...allot of people have probably gone off to other forums where light hearted banter doesn't get you a threat of injury....

This is the reason I rarely use this place anymore, It stopped being lighthearted and it got very personal.

4 years ago the quality of member was superb, so god knows what it was like at its peak
There is a difference betwen light hearted witty banter and just pure arsehole-ish nasty behaviour, which Scoobynet seems to have more than its fair share of. That and a new thread everyday on what dump valve to buy

I agree most were fuelled by alcohol, but they were fun, even if I couldn't remember what I'd posted. (well, until looking back the next day )
