Default Glastonbury - U2 out, Gorillaz in

Oh dear. Glad I am not off to Glasto on the back of U2 playing there.

Today they have been replaced by Gorillaz - not exactly a great replacement frankly.

"Meanwhile, I've got to find something to do with this 200ft wide backdrop of Bono blessing Pope Benedict. I suppose we could make it into a duvet cover for a blue whale that really likes The Joshua Tree. My God, can you imagine anything worse?"

U2 were forced to cancel after Bono ruptured his back while trying to reconcile his support for third world debt relief with his Cote D'Azur mansion and his army of highly skilled tax accountants.

one good thing, at least loads of African children won't die during a Gorillaz gig, they don't keep clicking their fingers.

Bet its a fantastic show mind you, I have a DVD of their first album tour and its A1

You could have dropped anyone into the top spot, and nobody would have really noticed. The glasto crowd will either be that mashed they don't care, or that far up thier own rectums you could put shakin stevens on, and they'd think it was cool.....cos, like, they were headlining...

Bono really is a bell-end. There was a time when I loved U2, but that was nearly thirty years ago.....
