On Five now - these guys challenge the F1 guys.

200mph, knife edge manoeuvres, 10g forces. 6.5km in 1.26s!!

OK, only one lap though!

I find it difficult to believe that they are pulling that much G. Must be for a very short time. As a young shaver I could stand 7 G but only for a while before the tunnel vision came on shortly followed by blackout of vision. That was if I was prepared for it coming on.

My instructor once pulled 7.33 G in a T-33 when I was relaxing and I went spark out and had a dream about being back in England! When I came to again I was twitching all over the place.

I am impressed by the Red Bull pilots' flying, don't know how they remember the course even!

They have a g force meter in the cockpit - they seem to sustain upwards of 5g for long turns, peaking at 9.5-10g! They also have video of the pilots in the cockpit looking very cool and collected!

They don't look as though they are wearing G suits. 5G is no problem and the very high G must be for a brief moment. I was pretty fit in those days and my G tolerance was as good as any of the other young blokes on the course.

They are certainly very good at flying anyway.

G loading is for a split second on the high G turns and I believe they are limited to around 10.5? I.e. if they go over that they get disqualified. They are also limited on top speed for entry to the course as well.

I find it excellent to watch, really enjoy it.

Yes all understood, its the only way anyone could cope for a very short time as you say.

I enjoy watching it too and I would enjoy having a go too-type of flying that appeals to me.
