I use these for my everyday tools, and they can take quite alot of abuse.most of them i am led to belive are made by Mac Tools anyway....

Just as good as Snap-on mate, if a tool brakes in it lifetime, just pop down and replace it for free.

Well recommend them, the professional stuff is the only reason to go in tbh

You have an Alfa don't you? So you probably have thousands of pounds worth of receipts for parts Put some overalls on, go down there and tell them you are a self employed mech and blag a card.

I got wipers for my Vectra last month for 89p

Their 150 piece kit is half price at the moment at £99.99 and well worth the money. I bought one a year ago and it truly is money well spent.

Also, regarding the trade card... I was told that on this kit it works out at £97ish quid so not a huge saving. Might be worth waiting to see if Halfords do their 15% off promos over the bank holiday though.

Well worth the money, I have even broken a few and had them replaced FOC under their lifetime warranty - and they were a few years old and misused

The trade price doesn't work out much cheaper when they have a good offer on, but the extra couple of quid in your pocket is always better than theirs.

PS. Luther's mate has a card too

The 150 piece sets on offer at £100 currently. The tradecard saving when I bought mine was only a couple of pounds, so hardly worth the bother.

thats the exact pack i was looking at as it seemed pretty damn good for £99! has it actually ever been £200 though? i'm always sceptical of these half price deals as i work in retail.

Most I've ever seen it at is £150, they always have £99 offers on. Mine are 5 years old now and I have one sticky rachet spanner, not a problem really

i looked into this a few weeks ago as i break quite a lot of tools. i wouldnt rate teng (snapped adapter first use), draper expert (had to weld 3/4 drive sockets), bergen( ratchet failed first day), franklin or sealey. have a few elora bits and they have been good. bahco are reputed to be a good make too.

i was looking for a new multiset for sole use on impreza and make do with all the left over dregs for farm work. what put me off halfords big kit was although it has three different drive sizes there wasnt full range of sockets for each. i purchased my first snap on socket set yesterday so will see how it fairs once it arrives.

i did have a gearwrench set of ratchet spanners but they have bitten the dust with average use on impreza. For normal keys, the only complete set i have is silverline. they have stood up very well considering the price.

Gets the thumbs up from me. Got 2 of the sets. The 150 piece and a smaller one. As well as add on rails of other bits.
Got a tidy discount on the trade card too I seem to remember.

I have the Halfords Pro Ratchet Spanners ... great stuff.

I don't know if KAMASA are still going but I have a socket set of theirs - use it everytime I need to do a job .... it has been with me for 32 years and been rock solid all that time! Fantastic stuff.

Always, always, always buy good quality tools .... same as beds and shoes!!

Ratchet parts are excluded, but theyre available to buy and not expensive. One piece spanners are technically excluded, but some shops will replace them - some will replace square drive ratchets also...

Does anyone know if the warranty applies to the actual case? I have had the 150 piece kit for quite a few years now, but the fasteners on the case have both snapped.

The case and contents have changed. Mine was one of the very first branded 'Advanced' and the layout and contents differ from the earlier kits.

Hmm, interesting, if the cases are under the warranty and they have changed them, I might be able to wangle a new kit.

the 150 piece set is fantastic, I've had one for a few years now and would highly recommend them, very good quality and a lifetime warranty
