work placement in GB - where?
hi there,
I'm studying Machine Engineering on the University of Technologie in Dresden, Germany, we have at least 6 weeks of work placement in manufacturing technology to do and I thought, why shouldn't I do this in GB?
The actual term lasts until ~20th August and I've got the free time until 15th October. So I have time to apply and plan some things.
How do I get there:
I'll book a flight for ~30 Pounds from Stuttgart to London-Stansted, so preferred region would be Southern GB, where I also remember an English lesson there should be some industry
What kind of work placement I'm searching:
1) Moulding process
2) Metal forming process
3) Thermal assembling and seperating
further information (in German):
http://tu-dresden.de/die_tu_dresden/...lare_ordnungen maybe translatable with Google translations
thank you for every helping bit
cheers
Nico

Google Business Development Agencies and ask them to give you a list of companies that might help. Worth trying. Start with Sussex and Hampshire regions.
Are you expecting to be paid?
Note the SE is a crowded place with a lot of students wanting work experience so good luck. May be you could identify a company with interests in Germany which might swing in your favour?

Hi there,
thank you very much for the suggestions, I've already been searching for companies accepting students, think that's the minor problem, this week I just have to ask if my university accepts this kind of work placement, as there are stupid rules to comply with... German bureaucracy - well known and well feared
Just had a look on google, youth hostels are cheaper I thought so I have some money more to spend on beer, the best financial investment, I mean 5% of investment you won't get anywhere
Hope I'm able to get a better English then and at least something else. I'll tell you more in confidence :P
And I hope I'll enjoy a ride on a rhd car on the codriver's seat - as normal but without any steering wheel oO
Keeping u up2date - promised
cheers
