LOL - I was going to add those who can't speak or spell the native language.
It would cut out half the SN posse though.

ANYONE serving a prison sentence can't vote, so why make it more lenient? - or have you done 2 months yourself?

Immigrants? I worked a a poll-clerk last year. We spent quite a lot of time stopping Asian blokes from comimg in with wife and four daughters, then standing over them telling them where to put their cross.

"They speak no English, I have to help".

No, mate, sorry, you aren't allowed, by law.

You are a cheeky bugger

If the unemployed are scroungers, milking the system, they should not be allowed to vote. Genuine people looking for work and not succeeding, yes.
Surely they can suss out who is who by now, or can they just not be bothered.

Prisoners, I did not know if they did vote, so can't really comment.

I agree with the 3rd one too. How can they make a decision if they have not been here long enough

Why should being long term unemployed or a legal citizen of an immigrant background disenfranchise someone?

I'd rather see a test to ban idiots from voting which judging by the quality of this thread would see the OP neatly removed from the equation.

Joking aside I agree that a test to show voters understand what they are voting for would be the best idea.

Five questions on the top of the ballot paper, get any of them wrong and your vote does not count.

Oh dear.

It's the hackneyed, standard comebacks of the forum poster with nothing to back up their prejudiced rant.

Schools out argument? Check

Old user with 'fake' user name? Check

Accusations of 'keyboard ninja-ism'? Check (ironic coming from some uber-keyboard ninja-numpty who suggests that the unemployed and 'immigrants' shouldn't be able to vote don't you think?)

Allah forbid that you actually try and argue your point of view. You might have to think and that wouldn't do would it?

Do you know what democracy actually means?

Or maybe you just cut and paste this from the Mail Online?

Given the number of soldiers(and civilians) that have laid down their lives for this country and our 'democracy' I personally find your suggestions most repugnant.
cheers richie
(caveat-my opinion may not be valid as I appear to be somewhat suffering from some kind of concussion from my little incident last week)
