Default Royal mail recorded letter question ??

Sent a letter in the uk yesterday using Royal Mail by 1st class recorded, not sure if you can actually check online if this has actually been signed for ?? know that you can check special delivery items via track and trace but recorded only ??

anyone any idea ??

looking at the receipt it simply has a barcode stating " AG482956290GB " rather than a track and trace type number.

"ronjeramy" on here used to work for the post office here in Carlisle and seemed to know Royal Mail inside and out

I'd search for one of his posts and point him to this thread

Cheers Shaun

Recorded can't be tracked it only gives you proof of delivery, it gets handled the same way as any other letter or packet does only the postman will get "someone" at the address to sign for it. Hope that is of some help?

Hi Shaun, yeah they still do postal orders, it's not a cheap way of doing it but it is a guaranteed way of sending a cheque as they don't bounce. You have to pay cash for them, unless that has changed.
