Default Chips Away

Has anyone got any good or bad experiences with this mobile repair company?

Can they really delliver as good a repair as going into a bodyshop?

I would appreciate your thoughts.

At the end of the day it's a franchise, thus they are only as good as the franchisee.

I used the Warrington franchise last year and he was pretty good. He did three cars (my kerbed wheel, a car park hit and run on my wife's and the next door neighbour as a thank you for looking after our cat) and all of the repairs were done to a high standard, he came on time and the cost was as originally agreed.

I had my R33 GTR done in Guildford, some idiot cut me up and caught my front bumper. Midnight Purple is not the easiest colour to blend in but you couldn't tell it had been done - excellent job.

As stated - some are good, some not.

I've had experience of both (the not so good one didn't make a *****, he just didn't do it quite right)
I think you need to get actual reviews of the franchise

I used to have a black MY04 WRX and scraped a wall making a deep gouge in the front bumper. I went to Chips Away in Woking.

The finish was perfect, the metallic black Subaru's had a whole load of other colours, red, yellow, green. He had mixed them perfectly.

But... after about a year I noticed an orange peel effect on the new paintwork when I was washing it (didn't wash it often). I was out of warranty from what I recall, but some **** stole the car before I could do anything anyway.

To summarise, it was very good, but check how long the guarantee is on the finish.
