Road tax question
Hi
My road tax, insurance and MOT were all due on 31/3/2010. My insurance was renewed on time but MOT and road weren't due to work pressures.
Anyway, I'm off to get my MOT today and will get my road tax straight after.
Its the first time I've been late and am not sure what to do. When I try and get my road tax will they automatically fine me for being 10 days late? I don't want to make a false SORN thingy, there are cameras everywhere and I don't want a minor offence to turn into some kind of fraud.
Any advice?

Can you tax it online by any chance?
I ask as this is what I did when I swapped my 205 GTi for a 106 +cash money. The 106 wasn't taxed and hadn't been since December last year.
I taxed it online when filling the V5 in and had the email confirmation stating that it was taxed. Couple of nervous weeks driving around with an out of date physical disc, but I kept the email printed off in the car incase I was stopped whilst waiting for the new one from the DVLA. Got sent to the old owners house naturally but he posted it off straight away.
If in doubt, give them a call. I'm not sure on the legalities of driving to an MOT without correct tax, but I'm sure the car is ok to be driven without MOT if just to the testing station.

you worry too much everything will be fine. just make sure you back date the tax to the start of april. your car does not need to be taxed to take it to mot.
