Majority 'want Blair to resign'

A majority of voters believe Tony Blair should step down as prime minister by the next election, a poll has suggested.

.....to be replaced by who?

Question

Weird, seeing as it was the "majority" that voted him in less than a year ago...

Fickle bunch, the British public...

Brendan,
Wrong ,the majority of the British public did not vote him into power. As only about 1 in 4 of those eligable voted that leaves 75% of the electorate to have an opinion. The peope who voted for Labour have proved over the last few years that whatever this lot does then theyre dull enough to vote for them again. All my own opinion of course.

Chip.

Chip - I put "majority" in quotes for a reason

Love to know what "majority" of the public the opinion poll actually consisted of...

IMHO if you didnt vote at the last general election then you have no right to criticise the current government. its your own fault. if all the people who didnt vote actually had done, then there could have been a very different outcome.

Home rule for England!

We are currently oppressed by the Scots! Half the cabinet are Scottish and even Phoney was educated there. Nothing against the Scots but haven't they got their own little parliament to play politicians in?

New labour have hit the buffers. Their programme has run out of ideas and they seem to be going absolutely nowhere on all the main issues.

Oh, except of course on that extremely important and evil pasttime of hunting, which clearly deserves more attention than the railways/NHS/crime.

And the worst thing is we 've got to wait about 4 years before we can boot 'em out.

Back to the original question from paulr
.....to be replaced by who?
Is there an answer?

I'm not sure how firmly Dracoros' tongue was in his cheek
What about that loveable rogue Stephen Byers?

[Rant mode on]
This is the man that nationalises RailTrack without "giving any more public money to the shareholders" (what is the definition of theft?), pitches the rail industry further into chaos, then spends £300M of taxpayers money to the shareholders to get it out of administration "more quickly".

So who has gained?
  • the lawyers
  • the accountants
Who has lost?
  • the taxpayers
  • the travelling public
  • the railway workers
  • the shareholders (they get £2.50 for a share valued at £2.80)
[Rant mode off]
Time to emigrate!

druddle... I used to take that attitude to voting..

I didn't 'exactly' vote.. I spoiled my paper as I deemed there was no worthy candidate.. Still can't see any to be honest..

BugEyed: VERY much tongue in cheek! Don't let me get started on the things I (& many others here I'm sure) would like to do to Stephen Bye-byers.

I can't stand the Labour Party, but I think Blunkett has implemented some very good policies, and seems to have a no nonsense, non-spin approach.
