Hi

I may incorporate from April 1st and will need a business acct for the first time. Any suggestions for the lowest charging or free ones?

I'd prefer one that is local as that would make life so much easier for banking cheques etc.

The closest ones to me are Nat West (my present bank), Barclays and HSBC.

I business bank with Abbey National (Free) mostly on line which is very good. But there are charges for selective services so not total free

If you are only doing a few transactions a month then Abbey.

Mine is with HSBC. They said it was free the first 18 months but I have had the account for 2 years and not seen a single charge. They are really quite good.

I applied online and they called me up and ran through the process. Sent docs in the post for me to sign and send back was so easy. Been to a branch twice in the 2 years just to pay cheques in as everything can be done online.

My Mr has a business account with them too and he has had the same experience.

As with Mr Beast, my account is with HSBC the 1st 18monts are free, and we have a 1.5% of turnover as free overdraft. No complaints yet.
