Question to any Landlords on SN...
... are you a member of the Landlords Association?
if so, what are the 'gains' from being in it?
We have 7 properties in the portfolio and now thinking it might be worth having the 'back up' of a known organisation behind us in case we need advice if things went belly up
cheers.

Probably a sensible idea. Saying that though, if you have a number of properties, you probably have a bit of experience where being a landlord is concerned.
I have one house rented at the mo, and Im a member of TaxMan Has His Hands Gripped on my Testes Association.

lol, thats why I think the £300 on my accountant is money well spent..... my tax bill this year for the properties.. 36p!!!!
No tax man worries if everything above board
Yep, having a number of properties we know about stuff anyway, but it's just the legal back up on the end of a phone might be of help....... see my other thread on SN I've posted about.. re sub-letting.

Certainly makes you more 'legit'. I rent out my old flat (alhough looking at selling it now it was only a stop gap measure) and had to register as a landlord with the council.
If you don't have to do something similar, it might be worth it, even as a bargaining chip for new tenents.
