Default One for the drummers

I have been to a couple of events recently where the drum platform has had a clear acrylic screen around the front of the kit around 8 feet high.

What is the point of this??? anyone know?

Sound proofing - Acoustic baffle. Reduces the drum bleed-through on stage, and allows for a bit more control of the sound.

Clear perspex is purely so the drummer can be seen - not necessarily a good thing!!

It stops a really loud drummer from deafening the rest of the band too

I remember watching a documentary about Blondie a couple of years ago, and Debbie Harry was asking if Clem Burke could be moved to another stage
