Truck destroys bridge in Turkey - amazing video

Default Truck destroys bridge in Turkey - amazing video
No fatalities, now thats amazing!!

CCTV footage of a truck smashing into a pedestrian footbridge in Istanbul earlier this week has been released by police.
The video shows the truck, travelling with its dumper raised, destroying the bridge as it careers into it.
One pedestrian crossing the bridge was injured during the incident, but amazingly no-one was killed.
Police are investigating why the truck was travelling with its dumper raised.

Could have left the PTO engaged and a slight hydaulic leak on the valve that slowely pushed the ram up whilst he was driving.

We had a JCB that used to do that, despite the controls being rebuilt twice.

Other than that the tipper could have jammed in the up position (they often do as many use gravity to come back down, and with wear and tear and lack of lube they can jam in the up position), so he may have drove off with it raised

Apparently he was tipping salt on the roads.

thought that then the tipper was raised it activates the emergency air brake?????

he actually stopped walking and watched the tipper hit the bridge.if you could see that about to happen would you not turn and run like **** the other way?

sorry, but any excuse that tit of a so called lorry driver has tried to give is obviously billshut! i (as do many others on here i am sure) drive wagons for a living and any driver will tell you that you tend to check your MIRRORS moreso than in a car. he would of known that it was up, surely? what worries me is the likes of these foreign drivers on our roads today, for eg. the truck driver on the m6 last year found guilty of killing that family that was on his LAPTOP!!!!!

he must have known, my 26 tonne volvo sways with the body raised even in the slightest of wind. travelling at that speed in that situation he must have realised something was wrong, or of course he could have been pissed.

I don't know, judging other drivers by your own standards doesn't seem to work IMO. Today I was stuck behind a Polish rigid car transporter towing a second two level transporter trailer, which was probably loaded top heavy.

Something was up on his air suspension as it was swaying to and fro like a drunk in an earthquake. When I finally had the guts to gun it and overtake, I noted in the mirror that the driver seemed to be eating a sandwich
