Disneyland Paris question
Never been before but we're looking to take our two boys over in March for my eldests birthday (he'll be 5, the younger one is only 2). Already got another couple holidays booked for this year so just looking for a very short trip.
Question for those that have been - is a day and a half long enough (2 nights) given the young age of the boys?
Cheers
Richard.

There is a lot to see (not on the Florida scale of course) and the queues can be long if you go at a weekend so you might not get round everything.
However, given their ages, you'll probably spend most time in Fantasy land anyway where the smaller rides are.
If you stay at a Disney hotel, you get Extra Magic Hours too (on most dates) which get you into the Park 2 hours before the general public which means you can get on a lot of rides before the queues start.

Thanks guys.
We'd be going on the 10th March - so mid week and not in the holiday period and we're staying at a disney hotel.
Just checked the flight options again, and it looks like we can have almost 2 full day now - so sounds fine.
Thanks again.

It's a small world - Fantasyland - Disneyland® Resort Paris
It's a small world, I guarantee your kids will spend a long time on this......you will *never* get the tune out of your head. LOL
We stayed in the wild west theamed hotel, one of the cheapest but only used it for sleeping. Despite what they say sneak food at breakfast to take into the park as the cost of food in the park will make your nose bleed.

Hi Shaun.
We've stayed at the Newport Bay a few times now. It's an easy walk to the parks which avoids the scums for the buses - those Europeans aren't programmed to wait in good British lines
My daughter loves Small World and you are right, the tune will not leave your head.
Da da da dee dee da da da doo doo....

Thanks for the tips
We're going to book into the Cheyenne Hotel for the 2 nights. Return flights from Edinburgh to Paris, transportation, hotel, ticket, etc is £920 for the four of us. Decent price.

Don't know how it compares with Disneyworld Florida or Disneyland California, but it takes a long time to see it all at those ones and you may wind up spending a shorter time than you like at some attractions.
I am quite sure that you will all really enjoy it, just as good for parents.

2 days is just about enough, but remember dinner for 4 (just pizza and a drink) will cost you about £80 !!!!!
Oh and the place is full of French !!, and the word queue is not in their dictionary !

It's not quite that expensive - but budget on burger chips or a pizza and a drink for £12 each. The exchange rate at £1 per Euro doesn't help here when the charges are already high.
Loads of info here :- Disneyland Paris Trip Planning & Community Board - The DIS Discussion Forums - DISboards.com a sort of Disneynet but full of women who call each other hun a lot.

I'd say the pricing above is about right! For two adults, a 12 year old, 4 year old and 2 year old last year it cost me anything between £80 and £120 for an evening meal in the village and that was just for normal meals like sausage and chips and a curry etc. Even at that price it was cheaper than eating in the Newport Bay hotel restaurant
We went in August for 2 nights/3 days on the Eurostar and it was a massive rush to see everything but then the temps were in the 90's and the queues were 2 hours plus for the kids rides. We ended up spending the afternoons round the pool and going back to the park at night to avoid the worst of the heat.

You'll have a great time - I went when I was about 12/13 and loved it - stayed in the hotel with the American theme, and in the evenings there's shows and stuff to go to on the site. Sure your kids will have a great time.
The only thing I remember that was bad about it is the people who work at the French one (in the actual park, not the hotels) are really uninterested in everything and generally a bit rude (prob mostly French Algerian), whereas compared to the one in Florida all the staff are really friendly and welcoming and that does make a difference.

Found a better offer - 3 nights, 4 days, hotels and flights - £960
Really looking forward to it and my 4 year old's birthday (turning 5) will be the second day out there.
£128 for the halfboard option for the 3 nights - which sounds like it's worth it.

We went last September and the queues in the week were fine but at the weekend, the thrill rides were a fast pass only event.
We also went the week before Xmas 2008 and that was just silly. The decorations were superb but the quantity of unwashed Europeans was unbelievable!
I'm thinking of taking the family this May half term as there aren't any French school holidays then so the place might be full but would be full of Brits.

Get up early and get to the things you want to get on ASAP.
Or at least grab a fast pass that gives you a time to go back.
I went a few years ago and had a great time. The Rock n roller coaster and stunt show stands out for me, although getting half cut in cafe mickey was good fun!

i went with the mrs last february and it was a total shambles. most of the rides werent working and those that were had huge queues.
customer service was crap to say the least, paid a fortune to get in and hardly got to do anything.
only got my money back as i wrote off to the director of disneyland paris and copied in the head office in the states.
hopefully i was just unlucky but i wouldnt touch it with a bargepole again.
personally for the sake of a few hundred quid more i would go to florida. not meaning to put a downer on it but its not a patch on the ones in florida and california.

The customer service isn't up to American standards but they have always been pleasant.
You can see in advance which rides are not working in advance here:-
Closures & Refurbishments • Calendar • DLRP Magic! - Disneyland Paris at the click of a mouse!
You WILL enjoy it, our kids always do.
You WILL get an Italian teenager pushing in front of you but count to 10 as you are there for the kids.
Then trip the tw@t up in the dark
