Well a lot of it was used in the Not the Nine o'clock News 1982 calendar book, and the book came out before that. I'm guessing late 70's? Thirty-odd years!

1983 .... so 27 years ago. I remember reading it whilst at school. Funny at the time.

I've just looked it up - it seems that the offerings in the calendar pre-dated the book by a year, but that's because John Lloyd was editor and Douglas Adams was a contributor.

Sad, but me and the wife still use some of the words to this day. Such as "worples" - the little bits of milk floating in your tea when the milk isn't fresh; and "curspurnery" - the pitiful pretence of a dog owner that the animal sh1tting on the other end of the lead has nothing to do with them.

Well I think its pretty good !

A lot has been made of the age of it, so what, most of the concepts are still relevant if you read it rather than worrying about when it was written.
