Depending on how much you have, you could think about buying property? You could let it out with the idea that house prices should rise over the next few years, and then just sell it?

Best thing is to make sure you clear any debt first, not worth trying to make money when your paying interest charges else where

Clear your Credit Cards

Clear any unsecured loans

Clear any secured loans

Clear your mortgage

Put £30,000 in Premium Bonds

Put £5200 into a Cash ISA

Put £50,000 into a UK Bank

Put the next £50,000 into another Bank, possibly non UK - but with EU Guarantees

Invest another £30,000 into the Stock Market - probably BP, Smithkline Beecham and Tesco.

Only when the above are satisfied, then spend what's left - WRX STi 330s?

I wouldn't bother settling mortgage or loans as thay are so cheap at the moment.

Put money into some safe defensive stocks . Something like Nat grid will give a divi of 5+ percent increasing by 8% a year.

Share price likely to rise as well.

the fact that you've asked for investment advice on a subaru forum doesn't bode well, just make sure you don't swap it for magic beans.

Surely how much you have inherited dictates what the best option would be?

What do you reckon on the Desire/Rockhopper chances? The big boys walked away from that one.

I'm in Afren. The potential rewards are maybe not as great as Desire or Rockhopper, but that means less risk too.
