Default Thirty-three years ago this winter.........

..........the same scientists, government departments and media that are now warning of doom because of global warming/climate change, were then warning us of imminent doom because of
.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.

.The next ice age. And Auntie Beeb was at the forefront of the doomsayers, just as she is now

Apparently, the next ice age was here, on it's way, on top of us, we all needed to cut back on this, that and the other so that energy could be put into heating and lighting, but even if we did, only 10% of the world's population would survive it anyway, probably at the tropics

It went the same way as global warming IS doing, and climate change WILL

Apparently, scientists were mistaken, the sun was just going through one of it's least active phases, just as it's recently been VERY active.

I was in Cornwall in 76 and 77 which was almost as good

The winter between the two was the hardest I remember

The climate today is noticeably cooler than yesterday I feel I wonder if I should pay some more TAX to somehow offset this event I'd better do some overtime too as they are forecasting some light snowfall on the hilltops of the Yorkshire Dales this weekend

I lived in a village (now a town) called Chirk in 76, I was 5 but remember Winters full of snow and Summers full of day trips to Bala or Porthmadog. Now it just rains!

I witnessed on the TV, a Polar Bear stranded on, what must be, the last remaining floating iceberg.

We need to pay more money to help him.

Whenever it gets a bit drier, or a bit wetter,or a bit colder, or a bit warmer than is usual for the time of year, or even at the right time of the year, they immediately start to mention GBW in a "sideways" manner just so that we don't forget what they keep telling us!

Summer of 76 was extremely hot ... even some forest fires here in the UK!
