Dining Tables - Anyone know of a good place to buy
After months of looking around we've just bought an "antique oak" refectory table (except it's not antique - just looks it) from a place in surbiton. The tables are made in France (french oak is supposed to be top class) and these guys are the distributors. 8 - 10 week delivery, in a choice of designs (heavy, very heavy and "stop a tank shell" heavy), colours / shades of oak, and "wear" (newish, to really shagged out)
Look the bollox, will last longer than either of us; but it aint cheap (half the cost of my 205 track car...)
let me know if you're interested and i'll look out the details. Also these guys seemed to know their **** generally and were nice people, so if you're thinking of punting your life savings on something to eat off of, then maybe its worth looking them up...

From what I've seen, instead of this 'fake antique' furniture (they beat them up with chains and stuff to get that 'aged' effect) you can invariably buy genuine antique stuff for a similar price or sometimes less.
