Advice needed... a little bit of a dent in my car :D
I had a slight argument with a bollard Tuesday evening.. resulting in a little bit of damage to my car..
Basically, it was pitch black, and I was reversing into the middle space of 3. Going back, I looked in my passenger mirror and noticed the bint to the left of me hadnt parked responsibly and was wonky, and I went to adjust my angle so instead of getting too close to her and having her hit me when she reversed out, I thought I'd angle my car in a bit... checking the bollard on the drivers side, I went forward - and caught the ****ing one on the left!!
I had to head back into town today, and walked past the bays where it happened.. it was obvious that me hitting the bollard wasnt quite all down to me being a dozy bint.. it was hindered by the fact that someone else has obviously had a run in with the same post at some point, and the bloody council havent fixed it.. and left it wonkier than a god knows what!! Do I have a leg to stand on with the fact that they have failed in their duty of care by not fixing the bollard in one of the bays they oversee??? They are quick enough to send the parking enforcement officers around to ticket people, but dont seem to use any of the revenue to fix things like this!!
I 'reversed' into the bay to the right of the bollard shown.. this was the one which became acquainted with my wing and door !

I sympathise with you, Bollards are always an accident waiting to happen since most of the time they are out of your eyeline.
I doubt very much that the council will be sympathetic however, I had troubles when a tyre was ruined by a kerb stone sticking out into the road which was the same colour as the tarmac and virtually impossible to see. They denied all responsibility and it would take a visit to court to get a ruling and I was not prepared to do that for the cost of a tyre.
Worth an ask though-you never know!

Think you'll find that the council will counter-claim on the grounds that being as blind as you are you shouldn't have been behind the wheel ....

You bunch of cheeky *******( apart from Leslie of course )
SO what you are saying, Dave, is that I shouldnt have been wearing my double eye patch whilst driving?
Bob, I am absolutely loving your new car.. when did you find the time to get it finished? You must be a very busy man, what with riding your bicycle in your stilettos and skirts...!!
