Hoegaarden beer
I have to say that this is my current favourite beer. Extremely expensive but a great taste. I just drove back from France so managed to stock up on the 750ml bottles at only £1.50.
Does anyone else like this? Is there anything comparable in the UK that isn't £3.50 a bottle!?

Yep, it's pretty nice. Will treat myself to some now and again.
I was NOT happy when I saw my uncle at a party last weekend supping away from one of the bottles on the side.
I didn't have the ***** to explain that it was mine, so I did what my natural beer drinking instincts told me to do......
I waited until he wasn't looking then made off with it sharpish. T'was the only way!

I just can drink wheat beer..
It always tastes of pensioners socks to me,has a definate aftertaste of something unpleasant..
Prefer the crisp taste of a good cider personally.

I agree about the cider though. I have sampled some of the local 'home brew' lately, and MY GOD, it was good stuff!
I think the other half was just as pleased with the affects!

Sainsburys near me were doing Hoegaarden 4x33s, 3 for a tenner.
Usually, it's cheaper to buy a four pack of 33s than to buy a 75cl. Unless Auchan or similar near Dunkerque have a special or seasonal promotion on...
The 33s and 75s taste similar to me. You can also get 25s in a crate from Beer Warehouses... I find the 25s taste sweeter.

There's a border/customs at Calicanes. There's a reasonable beer warehouse there too.

It's certainly got a different taste. Have to say I didn't mind it. The glass it came in was effing big though. I did think if things kicked off it would be a rather chunky little item to use in self defence.

Im 90% sure iv had this on draught , and it didnt really register as anything special
I have to say after dissing the leffe ,full on, im now a convert - i can feel the waist band expanding just thinking about it
I also passsed thro Dinant earlier this year on a canal barge - didnt reallly explore at all cos had a bad foot - i can tell you theres a pretty hideous church/cathedral there, however this was Belgium so what can you expect
