Ebay tossers. Bloody damn crap system
What a load of old tosh ebay is. Well not just ebay, people.
My girlfriend bought tickets for Top Gear Live back in September for my birthday. I've been ill for a while recently and it seemed like I would be better by November. However I'm still not doing that great so we decided to sell them on. I listed them Saturday on a 3 day listing. They cost £130 and we sold them for £124. Pretty good. However, no response from the buyer. I knew this meant trouble. I had their phone number so I called them. Turns out, they have other plans so no longer want the tickets. Great. Thanks a bunch!
Now I've lost the opportunity to sell them as I need to post tomorrow by special delivery!!
What annoys me the most is that I can't leave negative feedback!!!!
Feedback is how ebay used to operate. If you can't warn other users about duff people then whats the point in feedback at all?
I am fuming! £130 in the bin and nothing I can do about it..........
Please tell me one of you guys want to go Earls court on Saturday? 2 Gold tickets. I'll do them for £100 if you're willing to pay tonight.

I understood (the winning bidder) has entered into a legally binding contract, I wait to be corrected.
No use to you if you need a sale by the weekend though.

I think eventually I can issue an unpaid item dispute. I have to wait a certain number of days though. If they'd told me on Tuesday at least I would have had some more time.
Just seems a waste if I have to throw the tickets away.
I've listed them on here and my other car forum........hopefully I'll sell them

I've had problems before with stupid buyers....luckily there not all like that in my experience. As some have mentioned what you need to do on eBay is file an unpaid item dispute. This could take time but it's worth it as you get your fees back and it can result in the banning of the eBay member if there a problem member. Goodluck with the sale

If it is a trader to consumer sale then the page on eBay is an 'invitation to treat' and so is not an offer, but an indication of a person's willingness to negotiate a contract as defined by Contract Law
Obviously it is massivly more complicated than this, but the only legally binding contract is between ebay and the seller.
Edit...
I can see why people assume this "legally binding contract" nonsence, for instance..

bollocks like the above posted all over the site, note ..
I claimed to the court that it was against eBay rules, they found against me and forced me to pay (legal contract!) even though it was against eBay policy to add a surcharge

Can you still do a 'second chance offer' to the second highest bidder? If you're lucky they'd still be interested and able to pay quickly so you can dispatch in time.
